The Medium-Sized Splitting Froe by Fadir Tools is an indispensable instrument for efficiently cleaving wood by splitting it along the grain. To use it to the maximum, you should hammer one edge of its razor-sharp steel blade into the end of a piece of wood in the direction of the grain. Afterward, twist the blade in the wood by rotating the robust ash tree haft. The froe is a mere pleasure to use due to the smart construction and ergonomic handle design. The sturdy blade is made from hardened 52100 steel that meets the highest standards with its impressive durability and wear resistance. Since the blade is not swung, the tool is safer and more accurate than a hatchet or a splitting maul. The combination of our Medium-Sized Splitting Froe and a wooden mallet allows you to easily split timber and make planks, wooden shingles, or kindling.
This highly functional tool comes with a well-fitted thick leather sheath with designated loops for a wooden handle. This authentic handmade accessory also has a special metal ring that enables you to wear the froe on your belt.
Each of our tools is made by hand and takes time to produce. It usually takes 1-2 days to manufacture, but if you have a unique order we will need 7 to 45 days to produce (depending on the complexity of the order).
Shipping to the US and EU takes between 7 and 30 days, our experience is that the average is 14 days.
For customers in the United States, delivery typically takes 4 days, as the majority of our products (90%) are stored in our U.S. warehouses. For orders shipping to other countries, including those from our warehouses in Ukraine, Canada, and Australia, delivery usually takes about 2 weeks.
