Up from Sotheby’s & Phillips to the battlefield: Roman Minin & Fadir Tools present limited-edition axes from within a war zone in Ukraine
"Our collection is for those who believe in Ukraine’s struggle for freedom, for those who think of art as a weapon, for those who know that making is an act of defiance"
Roman Minin, like Fadir Tools, is from Kharkiv. He is a participant in international art projects and exhibitions, as well as the organizer of street art festivals. His works have been presented at Sotheby’s and Phillips auctions. Minin is the founder of the SMS Art and Transmonumentalism movements and actively incorporates virtual and augmented reality into his artistic practice. He is also a co-founder of the non-profit organization Art Embassy and the startup Transmonument. Through his work, he creates an anthology of miners' lives.

The Idea
The inspiration behind this project is straightforward: no matter if the whole world is against you, you can use your craft and your art to defend yourself and your values. A single piece is more than a material object; it represents resilience, courage, and the restlessness of spirit.
Founded by Serhii Ivin, an active-duty member of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Fadir Tools represents more than just a company – it offers a path forward for Ukraine's veterans to heal through craftsmanship. Despite the trials of war, their artisans continue to create, demonstrating that even in the darkest times, art and craft will persist.
Roman Minin is renowned for his impressive, symbolic art. He was inspired by Fadir's instruments, which are made to last a lifetime and can become a heritage for future generations, thanks to the quality and philosophy behind these tools. “This collaboration is more than just a creative project; it is a statement of solidarity with a frontline-based business and its founder, a soldier who became a craftsman. It is a declaration of unity with those who fight for Ukraine, both physically and through creation,” says Minin
